LIFEFUL - TELECONSULTATION POLICY
1. INTRODUCTION
Lifeful Wellness Studio provides online consultations through secure digital communication platforms to improve access to mental health, wellness, and healthcare services.
By booking or attending an online consultation with Lifeful, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Teleconsultation Policy and consent to participate in online services where applicable.
2. WHAT IS A TELECONSULTATION?
A teleconsultation is a consultation conducted remotely using audio, video, telephone, messaging, or other digital communication technologies instead of an in-person visit.
Teleconsultations may be provided by psychologists, counselors, therapists, doctors, psychiatrists, or other qualified professionals associated with Lifeful.
3. SUITABILITY OF TELECONSULTATION
Teleconsultation may not be appropriate for all situations.
Certain concerns may require:
- An in-person consultation
- Physical examination
- Emergency assessment
- Laboratory investigations
- Referral to another healthcare professional or service
Your provider may recommend an in-person appointment or referral whenever clinically appropriate.
4. EMERGENCY SITUATIONS
Lifeful does not provide emergency or crisis intervention services through teleconsultation.
If you are experiencing:
- Thoughts of self-harm or suicide
- Risk of harm to another person
- Severe mental health crisis
- Medical emergency
- Any situation requiring urgent assistance
Please immediately contact local emergency services or visit the nearest hospital.
Teleconsultation services should not be relied upon during emergencies.
5. PRIVACY AND CONFIDENTIALITY
Lifeful takes reasonable measures to protect the privacy and confidentiality of consultations.
Information shared during consultations will generally remain confidential except where disclosure may be required:
- To prevent serious harm to yourself or others
- When required by applicable law
- In cases involving abuse, neglect, or protection of vulnerable individuals
- When required by a court or lawful authority
- For professional supervision, quality assurance, or clinical consultation where appropriate
Additional information regarding data handling can be found in our Privacy Policy.
6. TECHNOLOGY AND CONNECTIVITY
Teleconsultations depend on technology and internet connectivity.
You acknowledge that:
- Technical interruptions may occur
- Audio or video quality may be affected
- Internet failures may disrupt sessions
- Complete security of electronic communication cannot be guaranteed
If a technical issue significantly affects a session, the provider may:
- Continue through an alternative communication method where appropriate
- Reschedule the consultation
- Terminate and rebook the session if necessary
7. CLIENT RESPONSIBILITIES
To help ensure a safe and effective teleconsultation, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information about yourself
- Attend consultations from a reasonably private environment
- Use a secure internet connection whenever possible
- Ensure your device is functioning properly
- Minimize interruptions during the session
- Inform the provider if another person is present during the consultation
You are responsible for maintaining the privacy and security of your own devices and internet connection.
8. IDENTITY VERIFICATION
Lifeful may take reasonable steps to verify the identity of clients before or during a consultation.
You may be asked to confirm details such as your name, date of birth, contact information, or other identifying information when necessary.
9. CLINICAL LIMITATIONS
Teleconsultations have certain limitations compared to in-person services.
Depending on the nature of the consultation, the provider may be unable to:
- Conduct a physical examination
- Observe certain symptoms adequately
- Perform diagnostic procedures
- Assess environmental or physical factors fully
As a result, recommendations made during teleconsultations may sometimes be limited by the information available.
10. SESSION RECORDING
Consultations will not be recorded by Lifeful unless explicit consent is obtained from all relevant parties.
Clients should not record consultations without the knowledge and consent of the provider.
11. FEES, CANCELLATIONS, AND REFUNDS
Consultation fees, cancellation terms, refunds, and rescheduling policies are governed by Lifeful's Cancellation & Refund Policy.
By booking a consultation, you agree to those terms.
12. PROFESSIONAL INDEPENDENCE
Clinical decisions, recommendations, diagnoses, treatment plans, and professional opinions are made independently by the consulting professional based on their clinical judgment and applicable professional standards.
Participation in teleconsultation does not guarantee any specific outcome or result.
13. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
Lifeful may update this Teleconsultation Policy from time to time.
The latest version will be available on our website and will apply to future bookings and consultations.
